ON THE MOVE WITH MOBILE
By the year 2015, predicts Google, there will be a mobile device for every person on earth—over six billion of them. What does that mean for you and your business? If you’ve ever tried accessing a regular site with a mobile device, you know that it’s not usually an optimal experience! Here are some interesting bits of data:
· According to Hubspot, 82% of U.S. adults own a cell phone, and 49% of mobile subscribers own a smartphone.
· Mobile Internet usage is expected to surpass desktop internet usage by 2014. (Microsoft)
· 95% of Smartphone users searched local information and of that, 61% called and 59% visited the business.
· 9 out of 10 mobile searches lead to an action—and 50% lead to a purchase
· 21% of US tablet owners user their tablets to shop more than once a week. (emarketer)
· Mobile coupons have a 10 times higher rate of redemption than print coupons
· 47% of consumers expect a web page to load in 2 seconds or less
In other words, business is moving forward with mobile websites. What should you do?
